IP Security Solutions

_________________________________________________________________________

IP Surveillance provides many benefits over its analog counterpart. Connecting directly to your corporate network without the need for an independent cabling infrastructure or power supply when using Power over Ethernet (PoE), IP cameras provide an extremely cost-effective solution with significantly higher image quality. Flexible deployment coupled with ease of image distribution and integration with other applications (such as access control and building management) makes network video the de facto standard for forward-thinking organisations.

Some of the many benefits of IP Cameras include:

  • Low-cost deployment - uses existing cabling infrastructure and IP network services
  • Browser-based access to real-time or historical images
  • High quality Progressive Scan images
  • Cost-effective and infinitely scalable growth capacity
  • Long term non-degradable image storage
  • Ease of integration with other IP security applications

Arrange an IP Security Assessment

  • IP Video Surveillance

  • IP Door Access Control

The benefits of IP surveillance are wide reaching and provide more value than crime prevention and prosecution:

  • Retail – Behavioural analysis, customer footfall and product positioning
  • Finance – Cash counting and ATM monitoring
  • Transportation – Number plate recognition, congestion monitoring and toll charging
  • Law and Order – Facial recognition at large public gatherings Progressive Migration
  • Pharmaceuticals - Quality control and process engineering

Many organisations have already made significant investments in analog CCTV systems that are still working well and doing the job for which they were intended - so why replace? The good news is that you don’t have to, STS can integrate your existing analog systems into an IP-based solution allowing your business to benefit from the many advantages offered by network video:

  • Browser-based access to live images, any time, anywhere from any computer
  • Greater return on legacy technology investment
  • Increased functionality and integration with other applications
  • Convenient storage and retrieval of digital video Building Access Control

Controlled movement within a building can be as important as securing the outside of your premises. Whilst keys can appear to be an adequate solution for most businesses, they do also carry inherent risks such as full and uncontrolled out of hours access which may actually compromise your security. Often the need to secure stock locations, managers’ offices or communications rooms is reliant upon a key holder being available when access is required. The alternative is to leave these locations unsecured or to issue keys which can be copied, thereby increasing the security risk. When keys get lost, security is severely compromised and often the only solution is to replace the locks. Staff churn can also cause problems with building access as keys are not always handed in when an employee leaves.

IP Perimeter card readers provide a flexible alternative to these everyday scenarios as they can restrict access to doors, zones and time periods by individual, all through a simple-to-use software application. If a card gets lost or an employee leaves, it can be immediately disabled without the disruption and cost of replacing locks.

Visitors entering barriered car parks or reception areas can also be controlled using IP Perimeter technologies. When coupled with an IP Surveillance Camera the person controlling access has the ability to both see and communicate with the person seeking entry to the premises.

As with IP Surveillance Cameras, IP card readers share the cabling, transmission and power (when using Power over Ethernet (PoE)) resources of the corporate network, saving time and cost on installation and increasing your return on network investments by sweating the asset.
