Prospect Leicestershire is the new economic development company charged with delivering physical regeneration and growth, business innovation and support and inward investment across Leicester and Leicestershire.
The organisation was recently formed following a merger of three separate government organisations and they sought accommodation within a newly refurbished office building in the centre of Leicester. STS were chosen to provide assistance with the relocation and integration of a new IT and telephony infrastructure as well as ongoing support and maintenance.
As the organisation required a ground up approach to their network and telephony infrastructure, an extensive consultation process was undertaken to fully define their needs and detailed proposals were presented for both the infrastructure elements and the Managed Support Service approach taken by STS. STS were also to be instrumental in ensuring the smooth transition of the server environment and computers during the move to the new office location.
The network and telephony infrastructure
proposed was designed to dovetail with the support systems of STS to provide a single comprehensive solution. Cisco’s unified communications platform was chosen in order to provide a Smart Business Communications System and maximise the value gained from their network infrastructure. Cisco switches, a wireless network controller, Cisco telephones and wireless access points completed the fully integrated IP solution and gave staff the flexibility to access business systems from anywhere within the building.

STS provide ongoing monitoring and maintenance of systems together with Help Desk support for users. By being able to rely on a professional organisation for support, any problems encountered by Prospect Leicestershire during the transition period were quickly identified and addressed, which left the user base free to focus on the operation of the new organisation.
